The Louis Vuitton Chapeau Souple is the smaller version of the Boite Chapeaux 50. These bags are extremely popular with its unique design, especially after being released in reverse monogram.
In this post, I’ll be showing you some photos of a Boite Chapeau Liyah’s Luxuries determined to be fake.
Spotting these fakes saves our clients hundreds if not thousands of dollars each time we do.
Here’s what you need to watch out for.
How to Authenticate a Louis Vuitton Boite Chapeau Souple
We noticed right away that the leathers patina or color was too even. With natural vachetta, there should be variations in color. We also noticed the leather was super smooth, when it should have some grain or texture.
Next is the made in stamp. The made in stamp is eerily similar to an authentic one, but a key difference was the missing triple stitch on the bottom of the made in stamp.
Lastly, the date code is what made all the red flags come together to determine that this bag is fake. The date code shouldn’t be as spaced out as it is. The code should be close together and centered on the tab.
Now that you’ve seen what the fake looks like, here’s an authentic Louis Vuitton Boite Chapeau shown above.
We encourage you to try to notice all the smaller details and try learning a few things to help you while shopping. Most people just don’t have the time to do that. This is where we can help you.
